La Netiquette è l'insieme di regole che tutte le persone, una volta che sono entrate in chat dovrebbero rispettare. In teoria su IRC non esistono regole fisse, imposte da qualcuno, se non quelle che ciascun sistema può stabilire al suo interno ma ci sono "usi e costumi" abituali nella rete, e dettati dall' esperienza, che è meglio rispettare. Rispetta gli altri per essere rispettato. Ti ricordiamo inoltre che su IRC la gestione e amministrazione dei canali avviene in piena autonomia, policy di accesso e di comportamento possono non essere sempre le stesse in canali diversi seppur sullo stesso Network.
- ❌ Non scrivere frasi contenenti messaggi pubblicitari (spam), volgarità gratuite o frasi che possano essere considerate offensive o che possano urtare la sensibilità altrui.
- ❌ Usa la massima discrezione con le persone che non conosci, non insistere se sono già impegnate in altre chat private, ricordati che dietro un nickname c'e' sempre una persona.
- ❌ Non fornire numeri di telefono, indirizzi di posta elettronica o altri tipi di dati personali che non sono tuoi, ed è consigliabile non fornire nemmeno i propri se non si conosce realmente l'interlocutore.
- ❌ Non usare le lettere maiuscole (caps) per scrivere i messaggi, in quanto usarle in chat equivale ad urlare.
- ❌ Non riempire il canale o le chat private con messaggi inutili, ripetuti più volte (flood), o troppo lunghi, in quanto un messaggio piu' lungo di 3-4 righe diventa già noioso da leggere. E' consigliabile evitare anche di scrivere una sola parola per rigo, in modo da non rendere la discussione troppo rallentata.
- ❌ Non prendere parte a flames neppure se provocato, utilizza il sistema di ignore con chi ti provoca, prendendo parte ad una lite potresti venire allonato o escluso dalla chat dagli operatori del canale.
- ❌ Evita sempre di utilizzare nickname volgari.
- ❌ IRC è una rete libera, evita un linguaggio scurrile e volgare perche' il canale non lo consente.
- ❌ Rispetta le decisioni e regole imposte dagli operatori del canale (il loro nickname contrassegnato dalla @), sono persone che mettono il loro tempo al nostro servizio affinchè tutti possano divertirsi. Alle regole precedenti, vanno aggiunti altri criteri che derivano direttamente dal personale buon senso.
- ❌ Evitare di denigrare l'operato di [ HOP % ],[ AOP @ ] e [ SOP & ] quando non si ottiene una risposta all'eventuale domanda posta; si ricorda a TUTTI che il servizio di help viene fornito gratuitamente e che gli operatori hanno una propria vita privata che molte volte li porta a non poter stare 24h su 24 difronte ad un monitor.
- ❌ Evitare di compromettere il funzionamento della rete e degli apparecchi che la costituiscono con programmi (virus, trojan horse, Worm, ecc.) costruiti appositamente.

Netiquette is the set of rules that all people, once they have entered a chat, should respect. In theory on IRC there are no fixed rules, imposed by someone, except those that each system can establish internally but there are "usage and customs" habitual in the network, and dictated by experience, that it is better to respect. Respect others to be respected. We also remind you that on IRC the management and administration of channels occurs in full autonomy, access and behavior policies may not always be the same in different channels even on the same Network.
- ❌ Do not write sentences containing advertising messages (spam), gratuitous vulgarity or sentences that could be considered offensive or that could offend the sensibilities of others.
- ❌ Use maximum discretion with people you don't know, don't insist if they are already busy in other private chats, remember that behind a nickname there is always a person.
- ❌ Do not provide phone numbers, email addresses or other types of personal data that are not yours, and it is advisable not to even provide your own if you do not really know the interlocutor.
- ❌ Do not use capital letters (caps) to write messages, as using them in chat is equivalent to shouting.
- ❌ Do not fill the channel or private chats with useless, repeated (flood) or too long messages, as a message longer than 3-4 lines becomes boring to read. It is also advisable to avoid writing a single word per line, so as not to slow down the discussion too much.
- ❌ Do not take part in flames even if provoked, use the ignore system with those who provoke you, taking part in a fight could lead to you being kicked out or excluded from the chat by the channel operators.
- ❌ Always avoid using vulgar nicknames.
- ❌ IRC is a free network, avoid foul and vulgar language because the channel does not allow it.
- ❌ Respect the decisions and rules imposed by the channel operators (their nickname marked with @), they are people who put their time at our service so that everyone can have fun. To the previous rules, other criteria must be added that derive directly from personal common sense.
- ❌ Avoid denigrating the work of [ HOP % ], [ AOP @ ] and [ SOP & ] when you do not get an answer to your question; we remind EVERYONE that the help service is provided free of charge and that the operators have their own private lives which often lead to them not being able to stay in front of a monitor 24 hours a day.
- ❌ Avoid compromising the functioning of the network and the devices that make it up with specially designed programs (viruses, Trojan horses, Worms, etc.).
